Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
---|---|---|
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:ProtectedPages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – Persistent vandalism by various socks with Korean username since 2018. — Paper9oll (🔔 • 📝) 15:56, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- Semi protection bad idea. why? because the vandals are auto confirmed users, semi protection will not do anything. so Raise to Extended Confirmed protection 199.119.235.241 (talk) 00:53, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
User(s) blocked: 경서 (가수) (talk · contribs) blocked by Blablubbs. indefinitely. Daniel Case (talk) 01:02, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring. Escape Orbit (Talk) 18:07, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
Declined As badly as these two blew past 3RR, it seems from the end of their talk page discussion that they resolved things, and since the likelihood of continuing edit war seems to have passed as a result, blocks would be superfluous. I will leave a CTOPS notice on talk per IPA. Daniel Case (talk) 02:02, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
Reason: This article has always been subject to lots of vandalism. Currently the article is in the middle of a FA nomination process ( WP:Featured article candidates/Margaret Sanger/archive1 ), so vandalism is a big concern. I thought the article had some protection, but I don't see a lock icon in the upper right corner of the article ... but I'm not familiar with the kinds of protection. Today an IP vandal made an edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Margaret_Sanger&diff=1281650452&oldid=1281540533 That edit was reverted, but how was that edit done? Doesn't the article have "pending protection" or something? If the article does not have any protections, it should have at least protection against IP edits. I apologize if the article is already protected, but I looked in the Talk page and could not find any indication of current protections. Noleander (talk) 18:31, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- Edit: Hmmm, when I edit the article, the top of the edit page shows that there is some protection, namely: pending changes settings [Auto-accept: require "autoconfirmed" permission]. So, apparently the vandalism was never visible to the public, and it was reverted before it became visible to the public? If that is correct, then I suppose the protections are sufficient. Noleander (talk) 01:53, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
Declined per above. Daniel Case (talk) 02:04, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
Reason: High level of IP vandalism since October 2024. For example, [1], [2], [3], [4], [5]. These disruptive editors have clearly weird obsession on judicial institutions of South Korea. -- Emeraldwood (talk) 18:58, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. User:Emeraldwood, please read the WP:Protection policy. We don't normally protect a page which isn't under active attack. I've declined four of your requests; none of them has seen more than one mal-edit since February 28. BusterD (talk) 23:55, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Recent death of subject is causing a ton of traffic to the article, which may lead to vandalism. Thatoneguylol101 (talk) 02:46, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 03:04, 22 March 2025 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – The temporary protection may need to be extended for a bit. IP vandalism persists shortly after the protection was lifted. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 05:29, 22 March 2025 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level
Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

- I would like to state that neither am I associated with Arti Mehra in any way nor am I getting any compensation for providing this information. I am just providing the correct facts and latest information regarding the person. I will provide all external links to substantiate the information provided. Request you to please allow editing so that correct information can be provided.
- Thanks King changer (talk) 05:13, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- Given how recently the protection was levied and why, this argument isn't going to work. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 05:27, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
Reason: The protection is no longer necessary because it has been pritected only 4times but indef since 2018. right now the page views is super low, and would make the article much better if it would be unprotected so that other people can contribute. 🍕BP!🍕 (🔔) 05:32, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- This protection was issued due to functionary action and can't be unilaterally unprotected here. I'd request via ArbCom. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 05:37, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
Reason: I would like to request a temporary pause in the page protection for the article on Arti Mehra. The current content does not reflect accurate or up-to-date information regarding her political career and achievements. I have a fully updated version of the article that accurately represents her growth and contributions.
Once the necessary edits are made to ensure the information is correct and comprehensive, I believe the page protection can be reinstated to maintain the integrity of the article.
Thank you for considering this request. King changer (talk) 05:32, 22 March 2025 (UTC)

Current requests for edits to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
